Lido is a small island in the Venice lagoon. Sheltering the city from the sea, Lido offers award winning beaches and spectacular views on Venice. It’s undoubtedly most known for hosting Venice Film Festival, but it’s usually avoided by the mass of tourists coming to visit its famous neighbor.

It’s nice to go to Lido if you’ve already visited the most part of Venice, then you would like to take some rest in a peaceful place. That’s Lido Venice, a peaceful place, with a lot of green and a beautiful beach. But it’s a summer island, so in winter there is nothing to see.
Can you swim in the sea at Lido Venice?
We visited Lido for a day from Venice as it was a great way to escape the heat and go for a swim on the beach. It is a lovely town, about an hour on the ferry from Venice.
