What does the actuator rod do?
The Actuation Rod is a post-Skeletron, craftable tool which allows directly switching the states of Actuators without having to activate them via wire.
What is the ignition rod?
The ignition switch lock cylinder pushes and pulls this rod to activate the ignition switch. Saginaw made approx 10 different ignition actuator rods designs and lengths.
What does the ignition switch actuator pin do?
The ignition switch actuator pin allows the vehicle to start when the key is turned by activating the ignition switch.
How do you know if your ignition switch actuator is bad?

- Difficulty starting the car.
- Key can be taken out of ignition switch anytime.
- No resistance on the key.
- Overheating ignition switch.
- Pay attention to dashboard lights.
How do you remove actuators?
Actuators are placed much like wire; they can be placed over blocks or in empty space with or without walls. Once placed, they act like wire in that they disappear when not holding a wire item and can only be broken with a wire cutter (breaking the block they are on will not remove the actuator).
How do you activate actuators?
It needs to be connected to the wire. Any block can be toggled like Active Stone Blocks when the tile is activated. When a mechanism item is selected, the Actuators are normally invisible.
How do you know if the ignition switch is bad?
Look out for these common signs of ignition trouble.
- Key won’t turn. If the key won’t turn be sure that the ignition lock is not engaged by turning the steering wheel back-and-forth until it locks.
- Stalling engine.
- Flickering dash lights.
- No sound from starter motor.
- Car does not start.
What does a steering column lock actuator do?
Steering column actuators were designed to connect the contacts from the ignition to the starter relay. A benefit of the steering column actuator is it creates a lock to prevent the ignition key from being removed from the tumbler while the key is in the start, on, or accessory position.
Where does the actuator rod attach to the steering column?
This is the gear inside the assembly that moves the plastic actuator rod. Marking it’s position before you remove it makes reinstallation much easier: Remove the bolts on either side of the steering column: Again, the front end of the rod (left arrow). The right arrow shows where the front rod will attach to the back half.
Why is the actuator rod on my F150 not moving?
The parts manager said that plastic piece is the only thing that could have snapped, it’s the upper actuator rod. It’s a plastic piece that connects to the lower actuator with a pin. Apparently the pin can come out, so it will no longer move the lower actuator.
What’s the repair process for an ignition cylinder?
In short, the repair procedure is basically: Removed the airbag, steering wheel, turn signal assembly, ignition cylinder, tilt, and the housing. It took me about an hour to get through everything. Here are many photos I took during the process: First of all, this video gave me a great start.
